LIBOR Names 2014 REALTOR®-Broker of the Year Joe Sinnona

The Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Inc. (LIBOR) is pleased to announce that Realtor® Joe Sinnona, has been named the recipient of the prestigious REALTOR®-Broker of the Year award. The announcement was made at the association’s Annual Installation and Awards Dinner held on November 25, 2014 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

Joe Sinnona has been a licensed Realtor® for twenty five years.   He is currently an associate broker with Verdeschi Realty in Long Beach.

At the Realtor® association level, Joe has been a LIBOR Director for over eight years, NYSAR Director for close to six years and has served on several LIBOR and NYSAR committees which include Education, Public Relations, RPAC, Legislative and GREEN, to name a few. In addition, he has been an MLS Director since 2004.

At the grassroots Chapter level, the Nassau South Shore Chapter; Joe has stepped up to serve as Chapter President on three occasions to help the Chapter and his fellow Realtors® meet their goals and objectives.

As Chairperson of LIBOR’s Public Relations Committee, Joe, along with Realtors® from LIBOR and NYSAR, traveled to Slidell Louisiana to team up with Global Habitat to help rebuild homes that were destroyed in Hurricane Katrina.

Volunteering outside of his Realtor® Association is also extremely important to Joe. He is affiliated with over ten different organizations, to include the Lions Club, Avanti Italian Cultural Society, Project Challenge for Youth, Long Beach High School Business Advisory Board and Long Beach Breast Cancer Coalition.   Joe is currently the founder and President of the Green Project of Long Island, a non-profit organization launched in 2009. He has earned his designation in energy auditing and environmental, and uses this to show homeowners, buyers and renters how to go Green and save using more energy efficient products. It’s this commitment to his community that led Joe to receiving LIBOR’s Community Service Award in 2009 and Realtor® Spirit Award in 2011.

Many were affected by Super Storm Sandy two years ago; however, Long Beach was amongst some of those communities hit hardest.   Not only were homes and businesses destroyed in this town but the spirit of Long Beach waivered.   Joe was quick to assist those in need, from moments after until today. His dedication to his community as a leader and Realtor® helped so many in need and makes him an exceptional recipient of the Realtor® Broker of the Year award.
