Town of Southampton Withdraws Onerous Proposal

Mar 01, 2017

LIBOR is pleased to announce that the Town of Southampton Supervisor and Council have withdrawn their proposal to require updated CO’s before a property is transferred.

This bill would have put an undue burden on REALTORS® to obtain the CO’s from the building department.  These type of requirements make it hard to move homes off the market, especially vacant homes where the homeowner is not involved.

A special thank you to Ann Marie Pallister, Kaylen Raynor, and Frank Butz for expressing their concerns to the Town Supervisor and immediately raising the alarm to LIBOR’s Government Affairs Division.  REALTORS®, builders and developers all expressed their strong opposition to the Town of Southampton. They heard us and have withdrawn the bill.
