LIBOR holds Nassau County Divisional Luncheon

The Long Island Board of Realtors®, Inc. held their Annual Nassau County Divisional Meeting on January 19, 2017 at the Westbury Manor in Westbury. Mike Kelly, NYSAR Director of Government Affairs & Senior Lobbyist, gave a detailed briefing on the legislative priorities at the state, local and federal level.  He discussed the New York First-Time Homebuyers Savings account proposal, and a bill to make the co-op application process more transparent for prospective buyers.  He also spoke about NAR’s commitment to try and get the Government to extend Mortgage Debt Relief which protects short sellers from being taxed on phantom income from mortgage debt and expired at the end of 2016.

This meeting also served as the installation of 2017 Nassau Chapter Officers and Directors by 2017 LIBOR President David Legaz, presentation of Chapter Distinguished Service Awards and acknowledgment of 2016 Chapter Officers and Directors by host Charlotte VanderWaag, 2016 LIBOR Nassau Vice President and 2017 LIBOR President-elect.
