The Long Island Board of REALTORS® Inc. (LIBOR) is pleased to announce that Ray Manzoni of Manzoni Real Estate in Mount Sinai, has been named the recipient of the 2019 REALTOR® Spirit Award. Ray was honored in recognition of his work with ALS Ride For Life. The announcement was made at the association’s Annual Installation and Awards Dinner held on November 26, 2019 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

Ray Manzoni is a licensed NYS real estate broker and owner of Manzoni Real Estate, established in 1967. At age 18 Ray received his NYS Real Estate Salesperson license, then a few years later earned the designation of Certified Real Estate Broker Manager (CRB). In addition, Ray also earned his NYS Mortgage Broker license to further assist his real estate clients.

In 1998 after years of fundraising for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and The American Heart Association, Ray volunteered to help raise awareness and funds to fight ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, after his friend Chris Pendegast was diagnosed. For 13 years, Ray and his family coordinated the Manzoni Real Estate Summer Golf Classic, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the nonprofit organization ALS Ride for Life. The mission of ALS Ride For Life is to research a cure, provide patients with much needed services and raise awareness for ALS, through education.

Ray has also dedicated time to mentoring at local schools and colleges including Mount Sinai, Miller Place, and Suffolk County Community College— sharing his business expertise on real estate business, marketing and community service.

Ray Manzoni takes pride in both his professional and personal commitment to the community, continuing to “pay it forward” to the causes he is passionate about. “Ray works continually to guide the Ride For Life charity and serves as its Chairman of the Board since 2017. He has done more than any other volunteer I know, and his impact has been immeasurable.” said Christopher Pendergast, President ALS Ride For Life.

The REALTOR® Spirit Award celebrates our remarkable members who have made a positive impact on their community and gifts the organization through which they volunteer time and talents a $5,000 donation.  

The REALTOR® Spirit Award was launched in 2006 as part of the “We’re More than REALTORS®…” (WMTR) campaign, and has since recognized more than 50 local REALTORS® for selflessly donating their time, energy and funds to help improve the lives of others in need.
