NYSAR - ETHICAL & AGENCY ISSUES

Description

ETHICAL & AGENCY ISSUES

This 3.5 hour program includes 2.5 hours of ethical business practices, to meet Department of State (DOS) continuing education and National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) membership requirements, plus one hour on agency issues.

The first segment includes ethical theories, common ethical challenges in the real estate field, enforcement and resolution processes, and "best practices" through review of the NAR Pathways to Professionalism. Special emphasis is placed on commonly misunderstood areas in the NAR Code of Ethics as well as some of the newest Standards of Practice.

The second segment focusses on agency options available to consumers in NY State as well as the NYS Agency Disclosure form. From knowing how to explain representation options to consumers, when to present the disclosure form, and how to clearly describe its contents and meanings, participants will learn how to avoid conflicts and potential misunderstanding.
